Performed Survey Readiness assessments on a one time and cyclical schedule.
IMPROVING NURSING HOME ENFORCEMENT
As part of a government contract, within the greater Los Angeles area, conducted case studies in nursing homes based on recent surveys and identified deficiencies. The general nature of the work was to validate for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), findings from the state survey agency. This incorporated:
• Independent observations
• Interview of staff
• Review of nursing care and patient records
• Interviews conducted at the state agencies
Each nursing home case study included six (6) on-site visits shared between the nursing home and the survey agency. The results of this study were published. They were presented to The Center for Medicare Advocacy and at a hearing of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging.
CASE STUDIES
